Which entree is the healthiest choice at a restaurant?

I am wondering which is the healthiest and will set me back least in my diet. 1)penne basilico- chicken, shrimp, tomatos in basil sauce 2) penne scampi- chicken, shrimp, brocoli in garlic wine sauce 3)shrimp,lobster and scallops wrapped in homemade pasta 4) Chicken with garlic, topped with shrimp and swiss cheese in a white zinfandel sauce 5) a steak served over lamache pasta

  1. who cares which one is better, they all sound great.
  2. this doesnt exactly answer your question. but i just want to say that diets dont really work. they work for the period of time you are on them..but once you go back to your normal eating habits..they quit and you gain all the weight back. so unless youre willing to stay on that diet forever, id quit and do some aerobic exercise instead. if you burn 350 calories more per day and eat 350 calories less, youll start losing weight.
  3. I would go with option 1 as it doesn't seem to contain any pasta (white sugars and carbs,) alochol or cheese.
  4. Number four. Pasta is high in carbohydrates and is usually white flour at restaurants which will turn to sugar in your body. Chicken is a very healthy choice...be carefull to not eat to much sauce and cheese though...lots of fat. Hope that helps :)
  5. It's tough to know, especially since you're ordering it at a restaurant. Short of asking them which would be the healthiest choice, which I'm sure they'd be glad to tell you, I'd look at it this way: 1) The penne basilico I'm thinking of is made with a red sauce - like marinara - so this is probably pretty good. 2) The wine sauces are generally cream sauces, so this would be not as good for you. 3) Depends on whether it comes with a sauce. When you say "wrapped in homemade pasta" do you mean like a ravioli? If so, it's a pretty good choice if it comes with a red sauce and it's not fried like an appetizer. 4) This sounds like it's probably a cream sauce, but if not it's pretty good. 5) If the lamache pasta is made like I make it - with spicy red sauce, rock shrimp, chorizo, and garlic - and if the steak isn't gigantic, this should be okay. Without knowing the sauce in #3, I'd go with #1 being the healthiest, followed by #5.
  6. chicken with garlic
