What is the calorie and sugar content of both white and red wines?

Can you compare a merlot to a shiraz? and a Pinot Grigio to a Chardonney

  1. all dry white wines contain no sugar. The sweet flavor you taste is from the fruit flavor of the grape. All sugar is turned into alcohol. However, your stomach turns alcohol into carbohydrates and that answer I do not know. A simple test to test for sugar content can be to dip your fingers into a wine a rub your fingers together. If they get sticky then you got sugar. That will not happen with chardonnay or pinot grigio. Hope this helps
