What wines should I bring to dinner at a friend's house (seared trout and curried tempeh stir fry)?
I should probably bring two bottles. The liquor stores are closed today, so this is what I've got: RED: - Pinot Noir - Merlot - Cabernet Sauvignon - Shiraz WHITE: - Cabernet Blanc - Pinot Grigio Recommendations?

- My opinion, for what it's worth, I would go with the white with the meal. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a really popular wine today not as dry as merlot for my taste buds anyhow. Would be good for sipping before the meal. Good luck - you have a good diverse selection picked out.
- Cabernet Sauvignon and the Pinot Grigio-drink the red before-and the white during and save the merlot or the Shiraz for after
- I am partial to Merlot myself. A nice white like the Cabernet Blanc too. Have a great time.
- Pinot Grigio wont over power the trout but can take on the spice in the tempeh. Take the Shiraz for after dinner.
- since red wine is for meats, and white wines are fish, let us use chadonnay, which is not white or red. How do you like that?
- Take both Pinot's.
- You're in trouble. A sauvignon blanc might do if you had it. The pinot gris will do, but wiping out your supply of whites may not work well.
- Pinot Grigio, without a doubt. Silverleaf has a great Pinot, if you have $100 to spend. White always goes well with seafood. Shiraz after dinner.
- If the trout has a butter sauce, use the preston syrah. It is an amazing wine out of washington costs less than $30 a bottle. I know that traditionally this is incorrect, but who cares about tradition and school trained chefs and managers.
- Two buck Chuck or Thunderbird would be a good choice for you.
