wine tasting?
What Hors d'oeuvres should I serve with red Spanish wine? I need a easy finger food because it will be for around 100 people.

- try salmon vol au vonts, cheese sticks, or the old fave's of cheese, pineapple and cocktail onion on a stick. have some minus the onion. There you go Annie. I shall expect an invite for that info. Send it to devon!
- stick with the Spanish theme. Serve Spanish olives on skewers or toothpicks, find a Spanish cheese (Manchego is the most popular) to serve with crackers, and of course tapas. Empanadas- you can pick what ever fillings that you like, savory or sweet. Most common is ground beef or picadillo, but cheese or mushrooms are good as well. Croquettas are a good choice as well. The link below has several recipes that look good. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/et_pa_tapas/0,1972,FOOD_10945,00.html
- tapas of course. excellent and easy to prepare tapas with Spanish vino tinto are: 1. mini cheese empanadas or samosas (available at the grocery store or an Indian ethnic grocery store. Just heat and serve) 2. mini sandwiches with prosciutto ham, manchego cheese and a light aoli dressing 3. large green olives with pure sesame oil poured on top (for kick) 4. tempura vegetables- or any lightly battered and fried veggies These are easy to make and wonderful for all guests- even unadventurous ones.
