Central coast wine tasting, California?
Could someone pls. recommend a good, romantic and fun wine tasting experience in Santa barbara, santa ynez, santa maria...? We are looking for a day trip wine tour with wine tasting and wine education...I looked at Grapeline, welovethewines and breakaway tours online...any suggestions?

- I love going to wineries, but have not been that far south, but will some day. I do not know what kind of operation the tours are running. I tried to look them up on line. I will recommend that you stay away from busses. This is because of the size of the vehicle limits the wineries they can go to. Also, a buss full of people invading a tasting room does not offer interment conversation between you and the people in the tasting room. One of my best friends gives tours in Napa valley for a living. He has a mine van and takes 2 to 8 people at a time. Several days before he will talk to his customers and plan a trip based on their desires. He has made friends with some of the wineries, and this guarantees his customers are treated special. As his business is based on referrals, his motivation for a great experience is high. My suggestion is for you to talk to the tour operator and see if they are offering this. If not, then save your money. Local hotels and wine stores may be able to give you a referral. I would plan my own tour before getting on a buss. Finding wineries are easy. It is not like being in a car dealership. Finding the best places and where to stay away from is easy.
