I need to know about a wine tasting party.?
On tv (in California) I saw a show that talked about fun parties. One party was a wine tasting party. There is a company that comes to your house and throws a wine tasting party for $50. If you know about this company (and only if it is in California) please reply. Thank you:)

- the way i do my wine tasting party is every guest has to bring a bottle of say merlot, chardonay. We put them in paper bags then we all taste and comment on them. It is really fun and the best tasting are usually the cheapest. Have fun.

- its simple, hold the wine up to the light and look at it shine, sniff the wine and swish it take a small sip and spit it in a barrel OH YEAH! use words like exquisit and other big intelectual like words
- Check out a company called Traveling Vineyard at http://www.myttv.com. I'm not associated, but I did host one of their tastings. Of course, they are trying to sell you and your guests, but their wine costs were reasonable if you do find one of their wines you like. Other suggestion is to just buy 5 bottles of $12 and under. You can either go with one type, i.e. 5 Cabs or 5 Pinot Gris, go with a region like Chile, or do a tasting of all reds but different types (Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot, Cab). Go to a good wine shop and ask for suggestions. Food during the tasting should be limited to crackers, but I always like to have some cheeses, fruit, and maybe pate's or other type of heavier hor 'd ouvers. Have fun.
- I do not know any that you can call but why not host your own party? Get Glasses – one per person is sufficient so long as you provide water to rinse glasses out in between wines. Paper bags – recommend enclosing the wine in a brown paper bag, or obscuring the label in some other way to create a blind tasting. Blind tastings increase your focus on the wine, and remove any and all preconceptions about a given bottle. (If you’re afraid of cheaters, remove the foils and hide the corks.) Food – mild cheeses (stronger is ok for fuller bodied reds, or sweet wines), crackers, good bread and fruit are all great additions to a tasting, and fruit and dessert are a great way to end a tasting with a nice cup of coffee. Pencils and paper – by writing down your impressions of each wine you promote greater focus and patience in examining a wine’s merits as well as its faults. Water – it is always nice to have water (not too cold) available, in addition to food, for people to cleanse their palates Spit buckets – for tasters who do not wish to swallow, and to dispose of excess wine before moving on to the next. White – whether it’s a tablecloth, napkins, or white paper, having something white is essential to act as a background for observing a wine’s color. Then, of course, there is the wine. No matter what theme you are thinking of choosing, the key is to pick wines that you and your guests will like, and to have fun. A six wine tasting is a good way to start – more wines tend to tire out the palate. Have fun!
- It must be a B.Y.O.B. party.
- O YES I HAVE HEARD OF THIS COMPANY.. $50 CHEAP WINE ...THROW THE PARTY,THEN EVERYONE THROWS UP ON THE FURNITURE.........WHAT FUN!!
- I used to hold wine tasting parties at home with a German company that came to my home, provided the wine for free and then took orders. Sort of like a Tupperware party. All I did was serve dinner afterwards. If you visit a wine store and speak with the people there they may be willing to do similar for you. Most liquor and wine stores hold tastings where you can also meet reps. who might be willing to come to your home. Here are a couple of places that seem to offer similar to what I explained. http://www.myttv.com/0 http://www.wineshopathome.com/dianenozik http://www.prpwine.com/about/home_wine_tastings/ Have fun!
