We are BROKE for a week. I need to buy something to make for dinner that would cost more than $10 for groceries. I already have some pasta..shreaded cheddar or swiss cheeses..white wine,,spices... butter... bbq sauce...mayo..dijon mustards...salso.. cream of celery soups... canned chili...canned green beans...canned corn... frozen Talapia fish.... Any recipe suggestions? I can buy a few things just as long as its $10 or less! Thank you!

  1. Just one dinner is easy - mix the chili with the corn, and serve with the pasta and shredded cheese. Buy some lettuce, tomatoes etc to make a salad to go with it. Or, if you don't want that with pasta, buy some rice.
  2. go to save-a-lot u can get a cart full of stuff for $10 or less
  3. TRY A FISH & NOODLE CASSEROLE
  4. Make a beurre blanc with butter, cream, cheese, white wine - 3 ounces shallots, peeled and finely chopped - 1/2 cup white wine vinegar - 1/2 cup white wine - 4 tablespoons heavy cream or other liquid replacement - 1 pound butter, cut into 1 inch cubes Salt and pepper to taste In a heavy sauce pan combine shallots, white wine, and white wine vinegar. Simmer mixture gently until nearly all liquid has evaporated. Check saucepan to ensure that it has not browned. Browning will discolor the sauce. Wipe off browning with a wet towel. Add heavy cream or liquid replacement. If cream is not being used, an equal amount of water or other liquid must be added to prevent sauce from becoming too thick. Add prepared butter. Over high heat, whisk sauce until butter has melted. Season to taste. Add a few drops of wine vinegar if sauce seems flat. Add butter if sauce is harsh or acidic.
  5. you could buy a five pound bag of potatoes and make Potato soup. Buy a can of spaghetti sauce and a pound of hamburg and make Goulash or spaghetti. you can go to your local aldies store or save a lot to buy food that is good just at a cheaper price. If you have neither of these stores make sure you buy the generic brands. Here is a quick and cheap and yummy reicipe. 1 pound of hamburg 5 or 6 potatoes 1 can of whole corn 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken fry your hamburg up and drain an in a casserole dish add all these ingredients and salt and pepper to taste and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
