can i substitute rice wine in a recipe asking for a dry white wine?

1. It would probably work. Just make sure the rice wine isn't too sweet.
2. no, no, no! they are made of different things (rice, grapes) and are used for totally different dishes. rice wine used for chinese/japanese dishes. white wine used for drinking and most other (non oriental) dishes
3. I wouldn't, the flavors are totally different. You can get dry white wine substitute at the grocery store.
