What is a god dry white wine to use for cooking?

1. The general rule is don't cook with a wine you wouldnt drink. There are lots of inexspenive wines that are fine for either so I'm not saying use dom perinon or something. Just do NOT use cooking wine (the non alcohal kind) from the supermarket. It's gets a very salty taste when cooked and it's just not good. An average $10 bottle of wine with an 8-10%-ish alcohal content is fine.
2. I buy a $3.00 bottle of red and white wine for cooking. Never had a problem with the results. You can also use beer, whiskey, vodka,in different recipes.
