- no,the alcohol burns off during cooking.
- The calories vary according to the wine. Wine has no fat.
- not the wine but maybe the food you cook in
- The alcohol will burn off, but the sugar calories will still be in there ... but it won't be terribly fattening
- There's no fat in wine, the calories and carbs come from the sugar content. As someone else mentioned, the alcohol which contains the sugar evaporates during cooking, and you're left with the wine flavoring, which tastes great.
- The alcohol burns off, but the sugar stays. That's why it tastes so good. Very sweet. I don't know the calories but.. It's sugar baby. Na
- Wine has no fat. Alcohol makes you gain weight because your body turns the alcohol into sugar. When you cook with wine, the acohol is supposed to be cooked off, so there should be none there when you eat it, which means that your body can't turn it into sugar. 1 drink (glass of wine, OR a shot OR a beer) is usually around 350-450 calories depending on the alcohol content. But when you cook the booze, the alcohol evaporates, reducing the calorie content dramatically, although there will still be a few calories from sugar, depending on the type of booze. With dry white wine, there should not be much sugar. So cooking with wine is actually a really great way to add lots of flavor without adding too many calories. Wine also has lots of anti-oxidants that are great for you.
- Usually wine is added to a recipe to enhance flavors, which is why a small amount is usually called for. It wouldn't make much difference with regard to caloric content. A four ounce glass of wine is usually about 150 calories. Wine has no fat in it.
