im cooking french recipe and it's asking for dry white wine. what should i use?

- I’d go with a Chardonnay, a Pinot grigio in a pinch, but the Chardonnay will work best for you.
- Definitely a Chardonnay. Also, the rule of thumb is to use a good wine to cook with. If you wouldn't drink it, don't cook with it. You can get a decent bottle of Chardonnay for $10-12.

- All three of the previous answers are good ones. Since the recipe is French, it will be best if the wine is French, and preferably from same region of France as the recipe (or at least from the same grapes used in the white wines of that region). Another choice would be to select the wine that you'll serve with this dish, and use part of one bottle of the same wine in the recipe. This will allow the flavors to harmonize well.
