Does anyone know how to make a Wine Tasting Essence kit?
I heard somewhere that you could make kits that helped you sharpen your wine tasting palate. Does anyone know how to make one or of a website that has the information?

- There are certainly ones for sale but I have not heard of making one. If you can get small jars (from a jam sampler perhaps) and place herbs, herb in fused oil, or something you would be getting close. The idea is to educate your nose to the various scents and flavors. Good luck!
- If you are serious enough to learn about wines by means of "component tastings", DON'T try to make your own kit. The only true component you are likely to get are water, glucose and the alcohol. The key components like tartic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, glycerine and tanin in wines are unique and hard to make at home. The whole idea of "component tasting" is for you to indentify the individual ingredients common in wines so you know what exactly is pleasing you or turning you off when tasting a wine. If you are going to do this, PLEASE do it right, buy a professional kit.
