Types Of Dry White Wine Questions
Dry white wine for cooking? If a recipe calls for dry white wine, what do you use? Something not too expensive but not cheap and nasty? Also, what do you do with the rest of the bottle? Does it keep in the fridge? How long? Can anyone name any brands/types of wine that are available in Sydney? Thanks
I need a Type or Brand of White Wine for use in cooking? All the websites tell me 'don't cook with a wine you wouldn't drink' - - since I'm allergic to the sulfites in wine, I don't drink it. So I'm totally stuck on what I need to buy for a chicken francais recipe that calls for 'dry white wine'. Is there a brand? a type? - I really know nothing about what to buy. As for the allergies, the sulfites are gone due to the cooking process so I can eat the meal I am making. Please help. Thank you. As for the organic wines contain no sulfites - you are incorrect. ALL wines contain sulfites, organics contain much less because they (generally) do not add more sulfites as a preservative. Due to my severe allergy (tongue swelling, throat closing) it is highly recommended that I do not ever drink wine, even the 'organic' or 'no sulfites added' wines. Which is why I checked with my allergy specialist about consuming food cooked with wine - the sulfur dioxide (sulfites) totally disipate during cooking. http://www.ecowine.com/sulfites.htm http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2006/Apr/12/il/FP604120314.html http://www.freywine.com/freywine/no-sulfites-added.html
What kind of white wine to use in baked chicken? I am making a baked chicken recipe that calls for white wine. I'm assuming I should use dry? Does anyone have a good CHEAP brand to use? And any suggestions for what type of dry wine? Thank you! :)
What type of dry wine is good to add to shrimp alfredo? Im not sure if I should use dry white wine, dry vermouth, or something, but I want to improvise a recipe my mom got from the AM new york newspaper. Im skeptic about using recipes from there or any newspaper but my mom insists since she knows that if I pick my own recipe, it will call for thirthy different ingredients and be expensive. So Im tying to make it more "edible" by adding some wine to boost the flavor. What dry wine should i use? I cant pick a different recipe since her roof means her rules.
White wine sweetness spectrum? I have recently begun to enjoy white wine at the local martini bar, and am trying to learn some basic principles to the level of sweetness. I know that I enjoy a good Riesling, which I have been told is one of the sweetest types of white wines. I know the spectrum goes from very dry to very sweet, and that I prefer sweeter whites. Could someone give me a easy-to-remember guide to buying and ordering white wines? Possibly list the types of common white wines from driest to sweetest? That'd be a huge help! Possibly even an identical spectrum list for red wines as well, as I plan on trying those soon. Thanks!
What wine would complement this? Venetian shrimp... shrimp cooked in a dry white wine, garlic, red pepper flakes, saffron, tomatoes, a cup of chicken broth and lemon zest, served over linguini noodles. Should I use the same type of wine I cook with, or can I serve something else? Would wine even be a good option since the dinner will have that flavor?
What is your favorite wine to drink? Im not fond of dry white wine or even red wine...but i love the fruit/sweet white wines. I love Reisling...i have tried several types (ones from Germany, Australia, WA, CA, NC..and others i do believe) but my least fav. Reisling would be Biltmore Estates...taste almost near a dry white wine..not cool
How long does wine keep? I'm not a wine drinker but I love to use it when I cook. I usually use dry white wine, Marsala or Sherry. How long can I keep those in the frig once they're opened? I have read only 1-2 days, is that true? Do they sell small bottles of those types or what would you suggest I do if I'm only using a small amount about once a month? Thanks
Which red wines, sweet or dry are recommended for health benefits? There have been many claims in the news media recenty about the health benefits of consuming red wine. I've heard that dry red wine is the best for health.I find dry red or white wine of any type to taste like turpentine or other foul liquids. I wish beer had the same the health claims as red wine.
What types of red wine are sweet or very mild? I'd like to switch from drinking white to red wine. However most of the reds I've tried are SO dry, or bitter I havent cared for them. Are there certain types I should be looking for???
I need help picking a red wine on the sweet side (as I don't like dry wine). What are good sweet red wines? I am new to the wine world. I've tried Pinot Noir (was too dry for me), and Cabernet (again too dry). I do enjoy a good White Zinfindel, but I know red is better for you. I've had Riesling before too, it was good, but more for desserts. If someone could help me out with types and brand names, I'd really appreciate it. By the way, price really isn't an issue because I live in Utah and everything is has to be purchased through the state. Since they buy in bulk, the savings are passed on to us. I've never seen a bottle for more than $20.
What kind of wine should I bring to a dinner party? I'm going to a dinner party which will have a Thanksgiving-ish meal served and I've been asked to bring a bottle of white wine. I don't know anything about wine; I usually just drink what is served to me. I want to buy something which will go well with dinner, but I also want something I'll like--nothing too dry. I'll probably be going to a grocery store or liquor store to buy it, and I don't want to spend too much money but I don't want anything low-end either. Any suggestions on types of wine or brands?
What can I substitute cooking wines with ? I am underage and can't buy wine, but there are some recipes I'd like to cook that consist of using white wine (as well as dry white wine). What can I use instead, is there some type of juice or sugar I can use ? Thanks I don't live with my parents and I live on a non-alcohol campus with bad repercussions for having any form of drinkable alcohol on me.
Whats the Best bottle of wine/champagne for the 15$-25$ price range? I dont know too much about wine/champagne, but recently Ive enjoyed several types of sweeter red wines, and some white ones. Im not a fan of dry red wines. Ive found that there are several types I havent tried but would like to but dont want to waste my money on some awful garbage tasting wine.
I drink alot of wine.. but dont know anything about it!? I tend to generally favor white wines with high alcohol content haha but I am looking to actually KNOW what im drinking from now on as opposed to getting the cheapest wine with the most alcohol (hey.. i graduated college a few yaers ago.. i still have old habits) My question is... Are there any good websites for learning about the characteristics of different types of wine? I tend to like sweet wines.. as opposed to dry wine... any recommendations for a type that i would like? any help is appreciated!
What constitutes a GREAT wine?? I know taste is subjective, but why would one bottle cost thousands and others a few dollars? Obviously the process and equipment used and the end balance of the wine are important factors. What should I look for when evaluating a wine? How should I properly drink the wine to get the full flavor? I know there are different types of wines because of the different grapes used, but what is characteristic of different types of wines (i.e., Chardonnay-supposed to be light and fruity? Oily? Sauvignon Blanc-dry, etc.). What are wine points? How is the wine judged by the professionals who assign the points? Where are the best wine grapes grown? What is the "champagne" of white and red wines (the best-a wine using the best quality grape, in an age-old secret tradition, and is aged for 50 years, etc. or whichever qualities truly make a wine great). What is your favorite Red and White wine?? Help!?! Thank you for your time and thoughts! Thank you so much for the thought you put into your answers thus far...now, another question! What should I look for when I swirl the wine in the glass? Should it be a slow run back down to the bottom of the glass, or should it sink quickly? Thanks, again!
Question about cooking with wine....how come when some peeople cook..there is fire? i have a question about cooking with wine....how come when I see people cook on tv with wine..sometimes it causes flare ups but other times it doesnt? How do you know if a flare up would occur or not? that's why i'm afraid of cooking with wine. Is there only one type of wine that would cause flare ups? What is the difference between cooking with white wine or red wine? Would one cause fire? and what is DRY wine? some people cook with that and there are no flare ups!
Favorite Wines...? What is your favorite red wine? What type of wine is it? What is your favorite white wine? What type? Do you prefer red or white? My favorite red is a Cab from Del Dotto Winery (a small winery in Napa that has the most amazing red wines). My favorite white is the Sauvignon Blanc from Justin in Paso Robles. Yum! Oh, and I love the Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs (champagne) also from Napa. I prefer red but I love dry whites!! Stephen, I'll have to try that Chardonnay. I checked out their website and it looks yummy! Some people just don't like whites...I happen to love both. But I prefer reds. Whites are great when it''s hot and you want something cool. Nicole-yum Frog's Leap and Grgich! I love both!
calling all wine drinkers!? I need info on wine! The types, most popular brands, dry, sweet, rose, white, red, chilled, warm, measures...even how to open without corking it! Should rose be chilled in the fridge???Why does it seem they are all called caber...something souvign...something!!! Ahhhh (please educate me!).
Wine enemas? I've been considering trying out a wine enema with my girlfriend -- which type of wine would be best for this, red or white? Dry or sweet? Also - what is the best method for.. ehm.. insertion? How do I go about approaching my lover with this request? THANKS!
wine advice...? I've had wine at parties and such and enjoyed it but I don't know a lot about it. I'm heading to the liquor store in a bit and I was wondering of anyone could recommend a good type of wine and brand. Nothing too pricey but I don't want it to come in a box! Generally I like white wine (although I'm not picky) and something sweeter that's not too dry. Thanks :)
home made wine question? i recently started making 1 gallon batches of fruit wine, i use 4 lbs. of crushed fruit, 2 1/2 lbs. sugar , & 1 can of welches 100 % white grape juice concentrate,to add extra body, as some types of fruit lack it! anyway, i ferment on the juice & pulp for 7 days & then rack to a 1 gallon jug for the secondary, i sample the wine at this time & it is just the right sweetness,& just the right amount of alcohol! when i rack again 3 weeks later, it is too dry for my taste,& i always have to add a little sugar when i drink it! is this my only option for a sweeter wine? i dont want to add more sugar at the primary, because it already has plenty of alcoholic kick! a friend that makes great wine from just concentrate, says i should try adding another campden tab. at secondary racking time to kill the yeast & stop fermentation ( i add 1 campden to crushed fruit 24 hrs. before adding yeast to kill wild yeast in the fruit ) he thinks will leave the wine sweeter, any thoughts on this will help
"Moet" demographics? This is a serious question seeking a genuine answer, not trying to irk anyone ... During my tenure in wine retail (and outside of it as well), I noticed a peculiar trend with sparkling wines. Customers of the non-black persuasion consistently asked for all different brands and types of sparkling wines, whereas black customers ALWAYS asked for Moet. Not a particular Moet, just "Moet". Not a brut or extra dry, not even White Star, just "Moet". It always seemed like the word was being regurgitated involuntarily, with no thought given to anything behind the word. I am genuinely curious what factors are at play here, whether it was some cultural icon consuming Moet on a tv series or whatever. Moet isn't all that, so is it just a status thing like "Benz" or a fashion thing or what? Please help me understand this.

Helpful Tips that really work!! PEANUT BUTTER To get gum out of a carpet, scrape up what you can, using an ice cub to stiffen it if necessary. Then rub a small glob of peanut butter into the fibers, and wipe up the whole mess with a cloth. To get rid of any left-behind PB, just dab it up with a mixture of 1 tsp of dishwashing liquid in 1 cup of lukewarm water. (Thanks to DIY Life for the tip!) PEPPER Everyone knows Clorox's catchy ditty about keeping clothes bright, but all you need is pepper. Add a teaspoon of pepper to the wash before you add in your clothes and it will keep the colors from fading. WHITE VINEGAR Deodorant stains can ruin a perfectly good shirt. Save your whites by spraying white vinegar (no need to mix with water) onto the underarm areas. Then you can wash per usual. SUGAR At your next BBQ don't spend money on anti-pest candles that never work. Simmer 2 cups of milk, a 1/4 pound of sugar and 2 oz. of ground black pepper for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour the mixture into bowls and put them where the flies will be attracted to them and then drown. You can also place around the house. No more buzzzzzing at the windows. SODA Next time your drain is clogged and you don't have time to run to the store for some Drain-O just look in your fridge! A 2-liter bottle of soda will do the trick. Just pour it down to clobber the clog. SHORTENING For a natural solution to diaper rash, try coating the area with a thin layer of shortening. It will act as a moisturizer. SALT Grease stains can be a huge pain when it comes to doing laundry. Before you wash, work a generous amount of table salt into the stain and then launder as usual. POTATOES Too much to drink last night and now you have puffy eyes? Apply a thin slice of cold potato to your eyes and leave on for five minutes. Then splash with cool water, put on your makeup (or just some moisturizer -- this means you, too, guys!) and head to work! ORANGES Don't you hate it when you have to start a fire and little bits of newspaper are flying everywhere? Next time, air-dry orange peels, which contain flammable oils that burn longer, and use those instead of the paper. The delicious smell is a bonus. OLIVE OIL Does it seem like nothing is working for your bad skin? Use 4 tablespoons of salt and 3 tablespoons of olive oil to create a paste. Leave it on your face for 2 minutes and rinse with warm water. Then wash your face as normal. Use every day for a week and then cut back to 3 days a week and you should notice an improvement. MUSTARD It may make you smell like a hot dog, but rubbing a thin layer of mustard over your chest and covering with a hot towel can relieve a stuffy head and chest. MILK Oh no! You forgot to put the cap on your pen and now there is ink seeping into your shirt. No worries -- just grab some milk and soak the area. Depending on the type of ink, this process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours. Patience is a virtue. MAYONNAISE It's one thing when your child draws on the wall with crayons, it's quite another when it comes to your wood furniture. Rub some mayonnaise on the crayon mark and let it soak for ten minutes. Then take a damp cloth and wipeaway the mayo AND the crayon! LEMONS Dandruff can be an embarrassing health problem, but the special shampoo often smells yucky. Try massaging 2 tablespoons of lemon juice into your scalp and rinsing with warm water. Follow with a leave-in rinse of 1 teaspoon lemonjuice in 1 cup of warm water. Use this daily until your scalp is healed. FLOUR You have an ant problem but are worried about the poisonous ant traps around your pets. Just sprinkle flour wherever you see ants entering the house and along the pantry shelves, since they are most likely after your food. EGGS No time to hit the salon before your big event? Get your hair super shiny and conditioned with eggs! Take two beaten egg yolks and massage into hair. Start at the scalp and work in small sections. Then gather all of the hair in a shower cap, wrap in a warm towel and wait 30 minutes (you could cook the kids' dinner). Rinse with cool water and shampoo as usual. CORN STARCH Your child just learned how to tie their shoes and the knots are impossible to undo. Stay calm and sprinkle a little cornstarch on the laces to help you work out the knot. CLUB SODA There's no more worrying about drinking red wine on white carpet. Soak up as much wine as possible and then pour club soda over the area, making sure to blot and not rub. Repeat the process until the wine is no longer visible. You can also do the same for urine stains. CASTOR OIL While most of us associate castor oil with constipation or childbirth, did you know it can also help get rid of pesky moles in your yard? Just mix a 1/2 cup of castor oil with two gallons of water and pour the mixture down the mole(s) hole(s). Don't worry, the solution is animal friendly and they will likely relocate. BUTTER A jewelry box can help you organize, but sometimes those thin-chained necklaces just want to get tangled and you can't stop them! Rub some butter into the knot and lay on a flat surface. Then take a sewing needle to untangle. When finished just run under hot water to rinse off the butter. BREAD Next time you drop a wine glass or break a plate, grab a slice of bread to help you clean up. After you pick up the larger pieces, press the bread over the area and it will pick up all the itty bitty pieces you can't see. Bread can also help clean fingerprints off walls and wallpaper. Just rub and voila! BANANAS Before you throw your banana peel in the compost pile, remove any stringy pulp and use the peel as a buffer. This works with silverware as well as leather shoes and leather furniture. Just rub the peel over the object and buffwith a soft cloth. Be sure to test a small section of your furniture first! APPLES Sick of waiting for your green tomatoes to ripen on the windowsill? Stick up to five tomatoes in a brown paper bag with a ripe apple and seal for a few days. This will speed up the ripening process. May sound wierd but it does really work!

Color bled into GREY shirt? I washed my grey American Apparel v-neck by hand, and then happened to accidentally dry it with a deep wine red shirt. For some reason, pink areas and spots now cover the back area of my shirt, (I thought color bled in the wash...but I'm not great with this type of stuff). The pink is approximately the area that would normally be covered by my "above-chest" length hair, if I tossed it all behind my back. My question: Is there any way I can get rid of this? Because I'm pretty sure bleach will just make the whole shirt white, and I don't think stain remover will do the trick. Is there some type of bleach especially made for color? Any and all help is appreciated! (Even if it is just to tell me that there's nothing to do...I'd rather know than wonder and worry!)
I went to look at a possible pet and ended up with an almost dead puppy!? My husband and I were looking to adopt a pet that just needed a good home. We were looking for a puppy that would not be much more than a lap dog. We prepared by buying the things that a new puppy would need. Food, leash, toys, treats, dishes, everything. We even pre bought the vaccines ahead of time, and my aunt who is a dog rescuer would administer them for us. We did not plan on actually adopting for at least another two weeks, when were going to draw on some investments to put away for the possibility of vet care down the road. I have not owned any animals since I was living with my parents. I thought we prepared accordingly. We went to see a puppy that was in an add on the an Internet sight. The add said the puppy was for nephew but did not work out, and the people had big dogs and were afraid that they would hurt the pup. It also said dog is in need of shot now? (Why they did not get them I do not know). When the dog was brought out to us it was skin and bones. (all I thought was I need to get this dog out of here) It was still wet from its bath, and shivering. They did not tell us their name, and the puppy had no name. The puppy had no personal items such as a leash, collar, name, food, bowls, nothing!!! They handed him over and my husband and I looked at each other and the feeling was mutual. We assumed people would want to make sure the puppy was going to the good home they described in the add. My husband spotted dewormer meds on the counter. We have 3 small children, and sure enough after the dog ravenously ate, choked, and regurgitated his food his stool was covered in worm evidence. We were unaware of the worms until we looked all the info up, and found the descriptions of all the types of worms. The dogs doo has a grainy like white substance all through it, just loads and loads. He eats as if he is absolutely starving then has 2 bowel movements right after full whatever that is. I do not see movement nor have I seen any full worms. I do not know what to look for though either. His coat and skin is really dry and is just flaking off. His coat is really, really dull and ragged. Gums are very pale. He just began to wag his tale, and he rarely plays at all. He does not wine, bark, yelp, nothing! His hind legs are not working very well, and I do not think that he can see properly. I do not know what type of wormer was used because all that was on my mind was get this little guy out of here. I called the humaine society and reported the incident because we heard two more dogs barking. I did not see the condition of those dogs but was scared for them. We cannot withdraw money for about another week and a half. And at that we only were putting away about 500 and 50 each week following. Maybe I was not really understanding the cost in caring for a puppy, but I thought that to be plenty. I dont even know if this puppy will make it to next week. I think the apl would just put it to sleep, but I am not sure. I want to care for the dog, but do not even know where to begin with almost nothing until next week. My aunt said that even giving this poor guy shots right now might do more harm than good because his immune system is so bad. I feel horrible, and I was totally unprepared for this. I do not care if I have to pay every week for the rest of my life if I know he'll make it. From what I have found in talking to others is vets want the money up front if you do not have an established relationship. I had to save it but did it do any good at all? I have been up all night trying to concoct a solution, any help would be greatly appreciated. I also know that a person should be prepared for the responsibility of any life, and I thought I had my t's crossed and my i's dotted. Nothing could have prepared me for this, and I know all about responsibility because I have 3 children. What are the options? Thanks for all the help so far. I am going to call around during normal business hours and explain the story and see if what money I do have will get him proper care. It is true that if I cannot afford him to get him the care he needs as long as nobody hurts him. I never knew this could be this hard. I did do the right thing by taking him atleast for the moment. I hope. Thanks again to everyone giving me a crash course in puppy 101. I did report the incident to the humane society, gave the address, and took pictures of the puppy just incase. To the person who said that I was less than smart for purchasing the puppy, it was free. Even if it weren't I would have dog naped it or found a way to get it out. If you can see an animal in this condition and turn your back on it, you really should not be a pet owner. That is my opinion. People make choices in life, if I had left the puppy how would I know that it would still be okay. This way I know he is good for now.
Just some Yo Momma Jokes? http://www.101funjokes.com/yo_momma_jokes.htm Yo momma so poor... Her face is on the front of a food stamp. That your family ate Cornflakes with a fork to save milk. When I visited her trailer, 2 cockroaches tripped me and a Rat tried to steal me wallet. She waves an ice lolly around and calls it Air conditioning. Burglars break into yo momma's home and leave money. When I told her about the last supper she thought the food stamps had run out. The building society repossessed her cardboard box. She watches television on an Etch-A-Sketch. Each night she goes to KFC to lick other folk's fingers She can't even afford to go to the free clinic. When I saw her kickin a can down the road I asked yo momma what she was doing....'Moving' she replied. I caught her trying to use food stamps in the Gobstopper machine. When I rang her doorbell, SHE said 'Ding-Dong' I asked her where the 'facilities were' and she replied - "Pick a corner...ANY corner..." I visited yo momma's house, tore down the cob webs and she screamed - "Who's tearing down the drapes!!!!" I walked into her home, asked if I could use her toilet, and she said "Sure thing, it's 4th tree on your right..." Only time she smelled Hot Food was when a rich bloke farted... When I saw her wobbling down the street with 1 shoe, I hollered - "Lost a shoe?", and she said - "Nope...just found one..." She hangs the Toilet paper out to dry. Closest thing to a car she owns is a low-riding Shopping trolley....with a box on it... She had to take out a second mortgage on her cardboard box. Even Beggars give you money. She bounces food stamps. She can't even afford to pay attention. She uses cardboard and ribena as bread and wine substitutes. She uses chewing gum as a band aid. She lives in a 2-story Cracker Jack box. She uses white-out as a tooth filler. She can't afford a mop - she stands on her head in order to mop the floor... Her idea of Desert was to go outside and collect the 'yellow snow'...and yo loved it, didn't ya! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yo momma so short she can hang glides Doritos. Yo momma's like a "Happy Meal" small, cheap and greasy. Yo momma is like a toilet; fat, white, and smells like shit. Yo momma's so short, she can sit on a dime and swing her legs. Yo momma so stupid, she took a spoon to the Super Bowl. Yo momma's so short, she does back flips under the bed. Yo Mama so old... She left her purse on Noah's Ark. Are you a Martha Stewart or real woman type? Martha's way #1: Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips. The Real Women's Way #1: Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake, you are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway. Martha's way #2: To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes. The Real Women's Way #2: Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to a year. Martha's way #3: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake. The Real Women's Way #3: Go to the bakery. They'll even decorate it for you. Martha's way #4: If you accidentally pour salt over a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix me up". The Real Women's Way #4: If you over salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too damn bad. Please recite with me: The Real Women's motto: I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes. Martha's way #5: Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting it in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks. The Real Women's Way #5: Celery? Never heard of the stuff. Martha's way #6: Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish. The Real Women's Way #6: The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust and so I don't do it. Martha's way #7: Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away. The Real Women's Way #7: Martha, dear, the only reason this works is because you can't rub a lime on your forehead without getting lime juice in your eye, and then the problem isn't the headache anymore, it is because you are now BLIND! Martha's way #8: If you have a problem opening jars: Try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy. The Real Women's Way #8: Go ask the very cute neighbor to do it. And finally the most important tip ...... Martha's way #9: Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces. The Real Women's Way #9: Leftover wine?
Wedding Favor? I am planning on a fall wedding with colors being mocha brown, chocolate brown, claret(deep red), champagne, and a white/cream/ivory color(haven't decided which but probably cream). I have been trying to figure out favors. So far fiance and I have come up with 3 different ideas. The thing about them is that each would significantly impact the type of wedding we will have; formal, family oriented, or fun/easy-going. Personally, I don't really care which type of wedding I have which is why we are letting the favors decide. So the three are: 1) Little bottles of olive oil, which would be more formal and lend to a wine-esque theme 2) Jars of homemade jam of some form which would make for a family, home-like atmosphere, more seasonal/possibly paired with dried flowers?? 3) Homemade gourmet candy apples which would definitely make the wedding more fun, also more seasonal Kids will be attending, so maybe one of the first two for adults and the apples for kids. If you were the guest which one? Just to add, candy apples would be bagged and given out at the end of the reception so no messy kids(at least not in dress clothes lol)!
