Pinot Grigio White Wine Questions
I need to know what kind of white wine I should use? I am going to be cooking a whole grain stuffing recipe and it calls for white wine...what kind can I use? I have a Pinot Grigio and a White Zinfandel in the fridge...what is best or do I need a different kind entirely?
What kind of fruit can I add to a Pinot Grigio? HI, I was told before that I can add some types of fruit to some Pinot Grigio. I've never had any, but I received a box of it for Christmas, and was thinking of serving it at my Bunco party tomorrow night. I would appreciate any suggestions!!! I will also be serving red and white wines, in case this Pinot is not a hit!!!
White wine recommendation, not sweet? I typically like Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and White Bordeaux. Any new brands you could recommend? Also prefer a white wine that can be used in recipes.
If I like pinot grigio, what type of red wine might I enjoy? I've had a few Californian pinot grigios and really liked them. (I've also had shiraz - didn't like it so much.) I know whites and reds are two very different classes, and I'm not much of a wine connoisseur - actually, I'm just a beginner - but am wondering if there are any sort of lighter, fruitier reds, since I'd like to start venturing into red territory more often.
How long is too long for a bottle of white wine to remain in the fridge (while unopened)? I've had a bottle of Pinot Grigio in there for at least 6 months and need to serve white wine tomorrow, so the other option is putting in a bottle of Chardonnay that I have. Should I offer the Pinot Grigio and just mention that it's been in there for a while and to let me know if it tastes a little funky because we can switch to the Chardonnay? (I think this particular person likes Pinot Grigio, but I don't know how they feel about Chardonnay) The bottle that's been in there for 6 months is still sealed.
Question about white wine...? I have 3 unopened bottles of white wine. I have a pinot grigio, a moscato, and a chardonnay. Which one is the dryest? I don't want to have to open them all the find out which is the dryest of the three. Would appreciate the advice.
A real good sweet pinot grigio? I ate at this amazing rest. awhile back and asked for a good, crisp, sweet, white wine. I asked her as we were leaving and she said it was a pinot grogio. What names can I look for?
white wine in turkey piccata? Turkey Piccata calls for white wine. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of white wine works best. I've seen a few bloggers say pinot grigio. Any other ideas?
To all of the white wine connoisseurs (lol)...help, please? I really love Chardonnay, and I've tasted Riesling, but I've always wondered about Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. I've even heard that there is White Cabernet and White Bordeaux (as you can tell, I love am really a fan of white wine). Do they resemble in taste? Do they all taste great with the same foods? What is the REAL difference? I've tried to read, but I need someone who can give it to me easier than the book. Thanks!
White Wine and Dieting?? So just yesterday I put myself on a diet. Nothing specific really, mostly the kind where I just don't eat so many fattening, greasy, unhealthy foods, and instead eat things that are low in calories and fat grams, but high in protein and vitamins. Plus do something everyday that exercises my body. An example like walking down and up my street (which is a steep hill) or playing DDR on my gamecube. I love white wine, specially savignon blanc and pinot grigio. The bottles don't say what kind of calorie content they have. I'm wondering if it would have any negative side effects on me trying to lose weight?
White Wine? What is a good inexpensive dry white wine to cook with? I know nothing about wine and I sent my husband to the store, he was supposed to ask for help, anyway he came back with pinot grigio. Good or Bad?
Can Someone Recommend A Wine? Can anyone recommend a moderately priced, sweeter white pinot grigio? I am going to a wine tasting party on Saturday.

Help me find my beloved pinot grigio!? I used to buy pinot grigio from a liquor store in Marblehead, MA, where I used to live. I have since moved to Michigan. I can't find it anywhere. I've tried thousands of pinots, but haven't found my favorite. I would recognize the bottle, but stupidly, I have no idea what it is! It is in a dark blue, opaque bottle, with a dark blue label. The bottle is taller and slimmer than most, and the transition from bottle to neck is very tapered. I don't remember anything it said on the label, except "Friuli" in a modern script on top, either in white or gold. I believe this wine cost $13 or $14 in 2003. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
cooking with wine? Hi, I have a chicken recipe that I wanna try and it asks for white wine. What kind of white wine should I use? can it be any type of wine like, chardonnay or pinot grigio? thanks.
Wine at the Reception? I believe I am going to pick 1 white wine and 1 red wine for my wedding reception on Saturday. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of wines to get? I mean if you were to pick one kind of white wine and one kind of red wine, what would satisfy the most people? Chardonnay and Merlot, Pinot Grigio and a Cabernet, etc.... Thanks!
Need help with cheese selection for dinner party please? Im serving wine and cheese and thought I might get some ideas here. Im serving a chardonney, savignon blanc, pinot grigio for whites and zinfindel, cabernet, merlot, pinot noir for reds and an 8 yr port and a 15 yr port. All suggestions are appreciated! Oh yes! Most importantly, if you know brands, that would help a lot! I'd also like to include a triple cream. Thanks!
What's your favorite type of wine? What is everyone's favorite type of wine? I'm not a wine expert by any means but I've been to a couple tastings and what not and I always seem to prefer Chiraz. It's fruity but not too sweet or heavy (I know there are better words for it but like I said, I'm not an expert). I'm not a big fan of whites. I think I would go with pinot grigio for my preference though.
Wine recommendations? I am trying to stock my wine cellar and am interested in hearing any recommendations. I particularly like red wine, especially australian and south american blends. One of my favorites is Penfolds Cabernet Shiraz. I am not fundamentally opposed to whites. I am fond of Muscato (sp?) and Pinot Grigio. I am trying to keep the price under $30 so that i can buy a good quantity of wine. Willing to spend more for a bottle that can't be missed.
A good red and a good white...? My husband and I are going away ALONE for the first time since our 7-month-old was born. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some really good wines we could bring along with us. Something in the $20/bottle range. I like Pinot Grigio, Shiraz, Cabernet.
You think these wines will be a party pleaser? For the whites, I went with something a little sweeter for the ladies who don't drink wine on a daily basis. Are my selections good enough? Should I go something different? Reds: 2005 Clos du Val - Cab 2005 Francis Coppolla - Claret Whites: Wente: Reisling Baron Herzog: Chenin Blanc Cycles Gladiator: Pinot Grigio Sonata (nevada city winery) - Chard/Sauvignon Blanc
What wines should I bring to dinner at a friend's house (seared trout)? I should probably bring two bottles. The liquor stores are closed today, so this is what I've got: RED: - Pinot Noir - Merlot - Cabernet Sauvignon - Shiraz WHITE: - Cabernet Blanc - Pinot Grigio Recommendations? OH! And someone is a vegetarian and having some spicy tempeh stir-fry. Oh... Wrong section... Whatever, answer anyway!
Can anyone recommend good wines for a new drinker? (This will yield very broad answers, I know.)? Recently tried Santa Margerita's Pinot Grigio 2006. This is now my favorite wine. I like that it is dry yet flavorful, and lingers nicely. I like how it is not terribly smooth. I have bought a couple whites since, and would like some recommendations before I go further. Francis Coppola's Sauvignon Blanc was satisfying, but not nearly as much as the aforementioned (although I liked the approach). This Gallo Chardonnay is far better than I thought it would be at 8 dollars, but is still not cutting it. I have tried some red pinots (macmurray's, rodney strong, smoking loon) and been disappointed. America's first petite shirah was not crisp enough. Far too complex. Or perhaps it was just bad, and I am not good at telling these things. I would like any recommendations based on my favorite, which is that Pinot Grigio. I realize this is a broad question but have noticed there are many wine lovers here who seem glad to share suggestions. Any color, any reasonable price. Thanks.
