I assume not that much, but if I swish around 100 different one-ounce pours, should I expect my blood alcohol level to be high? Wine tasting...how do you know what's good or what's not? I honestly don't have a damn clue. Because of the alcohol, all wines have tasted terrible to me for a long time. I have begun to tolerate the alcohol now, but now I can't really tell what really tastes "good" and what doesn't. Should there be something I am looking for? Champagne valley wine tasting? Does anyone have any recommendations regarding tasting and buying of champagne in bulk in the area surrounding Reims and the champagne valley? I'm looking for a good one or two wine cellars and tasting areas to visit.

Is wine tasting a good date? I have this wine tasting event tomorrow night, I am thinking about asking a crush of mine to go...is that a good first date? I don't want her to think i am a alchy, but I am no square either...It is a social club I am apart of, is it to much for a first date? I am sorry, but spitting out the wine....come on....okay I won't get hammered either, but spitting it out seems just rude... I 've been WT before and found that to be the custom for some, but for me I see it as a win win situation!!! No spitting!!

Do you tip when you go wine tasting? My boyfriend and I went wine tasting this weekend; it wasn't one those tours where they show you around the vineyard. Basically you go up to the front counter and the girl behind the counter gave us 5 different types of wines to try and told us a bit about them. When we walked out the door, my boyfriend and I looked at each other and were like "Were we supposed to tip her?" This was our first time doing any sort of wine tasting. Does anyone know the proper etiquette? We had a great time and plan on going again soon. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Need advice on wine tasting in La Rioja - need a place to rent, tips for getting around, where to go..? Can anyone help, ideally someone who has been there.. I want to go wine tasting with my partner in Rioja, say in about 4-6 months time, I'm not sure where you can stay - I don't want to stay in a hotel, a private villa would be ideal and I don't want to spend anymore than say £500 for a weeks rent, even 10 days would be great, in that case then £650?? Can anyone reccomend where to stay in Rioja, companies that have villas for rent in and around Rioja, how to get around - I assume I'd need to rent a car, in that case which airport would I need to fly to (from London) - and when is the best time to go and what vineyards/bodegas to visit?... Also - anyone know how much wine I can bring back before I get charged customs, and btw how much is customs?.. I think you can bring 4 bottles each - would I inculde these in hand luggage for the flight?... Anyway - I'm sure someone out there can help.... Thanks! Ok so I'll fly to Saragossa, and then rent a car at the airport. How can I take back wine then?? I'll look for a Casa Rural then to stay in then, but where would be the place to stay and the best bodegas to visit??

Question about Winery/Wine Tasting? I'm taking my boyfriend to a winery for his birthday to have lunch and do a tour/tasting since he's turning 21. We drink wine, but have never done the tasting before. I feel foolish asking this but could someone tell me what to expect and how to act. I'm a little nervous. What do you do??

Impressive vege nibbles for wine tasting night... need some Ideas!? I am hosting a wine tasting night and am going to prepare nibbles and finger food for my guests, some are meat eaters some are vegetarian, I will put a mix of everything in but dont want the vegetarians to feel peckish or left out at any stage, I want some classy and impressive foods, that can be eaten with just fingers or tooth picks.. and great Ideas will be much appreciated!!
