Total Wine Questions
Can Wine run Total War, Sims and Spore? I'm installing Linux on my computer and have heard that Wine runs some windows games better than others and I want to know if it can run all these games. Thank you in advance.
Why do we serve white wine chilled and red wine at room temperature? I just want to know why this Is the case if they are both made from grapes. What makes them so different from eachother (not taste or colour) that they are served In total opposite ways? Just had a glass of red wine last night and this random thought popped into my head. So just curious. Thanks.

How much beer and wine to purchase for our wedding recpetion? We are having approximately 160 people who are drinking at our reception. It is a cocktail reception with passed hour' derves. We are serving beer and wine. The reception will be from 7:00pm-1:00am in January-(6 hours total). We would like to have some kegs, and some red and white wines. Also, what kind of wines would you suggest?-(pino grecio, chardonnay, merlot, shiraz?)
What kinds of wine can be kept long term and which ones can't? I always thought it was cool to have old wines. After all you see these big dusty wine cellars in all the old movies. For years I've kept a small wine rack around with a few different kinds of wine that I just picked out at random. ( I think it makes my appartment look groovy. ) However, I am just a pretender, I don't really know much about wine. Now all of a sudden I hear that wine needs to be used soon after purchase or it'll go bad. What's up with that? Is this a total falsehood or is it only certain types that get better with age?
How should I plan a day trip to Santa Barbara for wine tasting? I'm going to Santa Barbara for one day only, this Saturday. I was thinking that we drive from LA and then get a limo there for wineries hopping. would it be expensive to get a limo? there's total 5 of us. where else should we go except the wine tasting? which winery has the best view for picnic? any suggestioni? thank you for ur time.
How do you fix wine that has too high acidity? My wine is finished fermenting, and it has a great flavour. However, it ended up too tart. The total acidity when it started was 0.65%, but it tastes too tart now that it is done. Adding water to dilute it will kill the flavour and alcohol. Is there any chemical I can add to tone down the acidity without affecting the flavour or alcohol level?
What words would you use to describe wine? if you have three ranges for white (lightest to boldest) and three for red (lightest to boldest) so there are 6 in total. How would you describe each? 1) white wine (light) 2) white wine (medium) 3) white wine (boldest) 4) red wine (light) 5) red wine (medium) 6) red wine (boldest)
How much is the total value of the planet Earth ! Let's say without human lives, but all the lands, buildings+ Imagine the value of your house. Add all the value of the fourniture you have. Plus your car. Plus your Picasso. Plus your wine collection, etc. etc, and multiply this value by the number of houses in your city, and multiply this value by the number of cities in your country. Plus all the state values on your state... plus the value of lands, plus the value of all companies. plus... plus... and try to figure out the value of other countries, and then, the total value of planet Earth
What is the best evidence that the early Church used real wine (not grape juice) in the Lord's Supper? Many people claim that Jesus and His disciples did not use alcoholic wine at the Last Supper, because it would have been a sin to do so. I do not believe using wine is a sin. And I also believe that the early Church used alcoholic wine in the Lord's Supper. But proving this, to the satisfaction of those who favor total abstinence from wine, is a difficult problem. So, what I would like to have, is a clear quotation from an early Church father that clearly shows the early Church used wine, and not grape juice, in the Lord's Supper. Please give the specific reference.
How should I go about find out our total savings in our 18Th's. year of marriage? I trusted her, even when she got her own safety box, then she removed some money from the joint account, then she stoped helping with the household bills, and now she stop putting her money in the joint account. She always had a good excuse each time and I never question her trustworthyness. I love her, I payed all the bills, wine and dine her and saved some money for our retirement. I taught she was saving up for our retirement too but now I am thinking she may have 'other' motives. She doesn't want to talk about her savings and I don't see any statement in the mail for her nor any thing when me file our income tax. What should I do?

I am making homade apple wine and i'm not sure it's working rite? I had 4 gal. juice, 1 gal. distilled water.and 1 pack yeast. It didn't do anything in my 6 gal. bucket with air lock for a week so i added 1 more pack of yeast and it started to work for a few days but not very hard and now it is doing nothing, Total time in bucket is 2 weeks. What should i do?
Another tipping etiquette question: Suppose you order a $150 bottle of wine at a restaurant, and...? this ends up essentially doubling your total meal bill. Does the standard 18% tip still apply? I mean, it takes no more effort for the server to bring you a $15 bottle of wine than it does to bring the bottle that's ten times as expensive. My natural inclination would be to tip 18-20% on the MEAL portion of the bill, plus a couple bucks for the wine bottle... Bad etiquette? I'm not a cheap-skate... I'm simply asking so I'll know what to do. Either answer is OK with me.
How much alcohol do I need for my wedding? Hi, I'm getting married in a few weeks. I expect a crowd at the reception that is ready to party. We'll have 225 guests total, but my estimates are about 85 "heavy drinkers and 65 "light drinkers" (only a glass or two). It's hard to guess the wine/beer ratio. Right now, we're thinking one keg of Bud Light, one of Killian's, then maybe 4 cases of Light on deck, to be iced if needed. And probably three cases of wine. As far as mixed drinks, we're just going with rum, vodka, and whiskey, but I don't know how much of each yet. Are my guesses accurate, or do I need more?
How much would you pay for this laptop? Not sure exactly how old it is, but it's pretty old. Gateway Solo 1200 Windows XP 68 MB total physical memory Celeron 800 MHz processor 10 GB hard drive CD-ROM drive doesn't work 3.5" floppy drive works I'm considering buying this off a friend to use, while I save to buy a new one (spilled wine on mine a few months ago). What do you think?
Why a Bottle of Wine is Better than a Man (Part 1 of 2)? This is part 1 of 2 read the next one also! This was what inspired part 2! o It takes at least three bottles to give you a headache o You get a headache afterwards - Not before o You can have more than one a night without feeling guilty o You can have one whilst eating o A bottle of wine waits for you while you get ready o A wine improves when chilled o A wine matures with age o A wine get more attractive as it gets older o You don't have to boost it's ego o When you finish a bottle of wine, you can have another straight away o Good wines aren't always completing o You can sample many wines, but always go back to your favorite o The cork isn't easy to get out, but it's always worth it in the end o If corked, you can send it back and get another o Wine doesn't run out of cotton shirts o Wine doesn't run out of clean underwear o Wine never falls asleep in front of the TV o You can always spit wine out if you don't like it o The fruitier the wine the better o Fruity full bodied wine don't mean over-sexed with a paunch o A bottle of wine keeps it's hand to itself o A wine doesn't mind if you don't drink it all the first time you try o Wine gets better if allowed to breathe All these may or may not be true depending on who, what, where and why. But don't expect the bottle to hold your door open, stick up for you and I know about corks but can a cork lick your vagina? http://www.total-knowledge.com/~willyblues/ From; WILLYS JOKES 4/24/06 WHY A BOTTLE OF WINE IS BETTER THAN A MAN
Is My Makeup TOO Wild? I Don't go for the natural look, but i dont want to look like a total CLOWN either. -I wear concealor and i blend it very well -I wear a bit of bare mineral powder to even out my skintone -I wear a bit of black eyeliner, but not all around my eye! -I wear CLEAR lipgloss/chapstick -I wear fake lashes, but they are 100% natural looking and not too long whatsoever -I wear a medium shade of pink-wine eyeshadow to make my eyes pop -and I wear ONE SWEEP of bare mineral warmth on my cheekbones...looks natural. Do you think i'd look like a clown still? The lashes, liner, and eyeshadow are 100% nessesary for me to look my best. I used to wear ALOT more and my face was very caked up. I just want to make sure it doesnt look so cakey this schollyear. also...i dont look good in nude tones so please dont bother. And im getting a tan..so the colors wont be so dramatic?? Im currently nearly albino. <3 you all! thanks for your time! i grew up around the cosmetics industry so i know alot about make up...it only takes me ten minutes to apply! :] yeah the lashes are very very natural looking. I only use them because i hate mascara.
Suggestions for a Signature Drink for my beach wedding? Hey Everyone, I'm having a beach wedding on a budget. Instead of doing a tacky cash bar or skipping alcohol altogether, we are doing kegs of beer, red wine, white wine, blush wine and a signature mixed drink to go with our theme. I'm looking for tasty suggestions for fun beach drinks. Please do not suggest Bahama Mamas, Blue Hawaii, Pina Coladas or Strawberry Daquiries. I'd like to do something more interesting than those four standard drinks. I'm allergic to coconut, so nothing with coconut in it. My wedding color is periwinkle, so purple/blue colored drinks would be a total bonus. Do we have any bartenders out there? Thank you all for your suggestions, but I still need some more help. As I'm reading your suggestions, I love the drink ideas, but many of them are pretty complicated or they are composed of numerous different bottles of expensive alcohol. This will be the one signature drink at my wedding, so I need to keep it relatively easy to prepare in large quantities, without a lot of expensive ingredients and steps. I need something that tastes good but can be made affordably for 100+ guests.
How much take-home pay do you think the restaurant server in this scenario makes weekly? I'm talking take-home pay, the amount of money that the server will actually have in the checking account each week to pay bills with, given the following variables... 1) This server works in a nicer, three-star restaurant with terrific food and a great, reasonably priced wine list, and a hip, elegant bar. 2) This server carries Health Insurance through the restaurant. 3) This server orders $800 worth of food and beverages per shift, and works 5 shifts per week. 4) 95% of the patrons pay (and tip) on a credit card. 5) This server is remarkably knowledgeable about the nuances of different foods served in the restaurant, and is able to choose just the right wine for each individual's meal and personal taste, and is requested by name at least once per shift by returning patrons. 6) This server is paid the US standard $2.13/hour by the restaurant. 7) This server's restaurant requires that the busser, bartender, and host staff each receive 1%(3% total) of each server's sales as a tip The real purpose of this question is to see whether anyone out there has a clue as to how their tipping habits (in the face of a great meal and service) impact a server's income, and what that income actually is. I think that there are a lot of people out there who are duped into thinking that these folks either make an undeserved fortune, or, conversely, are doing little in the way of "real" work and should be happy earning little in the way of "real" income. Somebody's going to earn 10 points, here, so if you get out a pen and piece of paper, it could be you. HINT: Count on total taxation to be about 35% including FICA, and know that health insurance premiums run about $50/week.
how do you cut out ground loops? I have to amps running to my system. I have 3 rca wires total and 2 ground loop filters. The filters helped alot but its still there. Like when I pause the cd player or turn it down so that I can talk on my phone, I'm still getting the engine wine through the speakers. Thanks!
Chem help about wine?? In the "Methode Champenoise," grape juice is fermented in a wine bottle to produce sparkling wine. The reaction is given below. C6H12O6(aq) 2 C2H5OH(aq) + 2 CO2(g) Fermentation of 730. mL grape juice (density = 1.0 g/cm3) is allowed to take place in a bottle with a total volume of 825 mL until 12% by volume is ethanol (C2H5OH). Assuming that the CO2 is insoluble in H2O (actually, a wrong assumption), what would be the pressure of CO2 inside the wine bottle at 34°C? (The density of ethanol is 0.79 g/cm3.) _______atm I don't even know where to start on this one. I don't understand what the solubility has to do with it..... Please, any help is appreciated. I have this chem class that I am really struggling with. We get these big online assignments and I have several problems that I need help with. Please, anyone who is good at chem, I would really appreciate it.
wine chemistry? Pressure problem with wine? C6H12O6 (aq) --> 2C2H5OH (aq) + 2CO2 (g). Fermentation of 750 mL grape juice (density = 1 g/cm^3) is allowed to take place in a bottle with a total volume of 825 mL until 12% by volume is ethanol (C2H5OH). If CO2 is soluble in H2O what would be the pressure of CO2 inside the wine bottle at 25 degrees C?(Density of Ethanol=.79g/cm^3 It's been a while since I've done Chemistry(Christmas break lol). I forget how you find moles of CO2; the elements add up to 44, but how do I get this to moles again using the equation? Just need a quick refresher. So Ethanol=12%=90mL, so CO2=88%=660mL, is this right? And I believe the Pressure equation is P=T*(nR/V). T=298, and V=750(or 825 since the contrainer is 825, or 750 since solution is that much?), and n is moles of CO2(again, forgot how to find this). I can't find at all what R is supposed to be. Answer is 490 atm, but I obviously need to have work and I'm a little rusty and lost.
What is the pressure of CO2 inside the wine bottle at 25 degrees celsius.? The reaction is C6H12O6 (aq) --> 2C2H5OH (aq) + 2CO2 (g). Fermentation of 750 mL grape juice (density = 1 g/mL) is allowed to take place in a bottle with a total volume of 825 mL until 12% by volume is ethanol (C2H5OH). If CO2 is soluble in H2O (obeys Henry's Law), what would be the pressure of CO2 inside the wine bottle at 25 degrees C? at 125 degrees C? Use the data given in the problem to calculate the partial pressure of CO2 in the gas phase and the solubility of CO2 in the wine at 25 degress C. The Henry's law constant for CO2 is 3.1 x 10^ -2 mol/L . atm at 25 C with Henry's law in the form C = kP, where C is the concentration of the gas in mol/L. This question is really confusing..can someone help me please?

For the second correct response, the total winnings will increase to $25; for the third correct response, the total wining will increase to $125; and so on. What is the equation? If you walked into a blind friend's house and it was a total mess, filthy, dirty, messy? how would you go about telling him? He can't see well enough to clean properly, there's mold all over his fridge, his counter tops are 60 years old and all scratched up and torn up, his floor hasn't been properly swept or mopped in years, there's accumulated papers and stuff on his kitchen table, his stove top is a mess of spills and smears, and here's the bad part-- he says he occasionally has people over, so he keeps his other two fridges full of beer, wine, pop, etc. (They're full of mold too) Would you offer to clean it for him so that he doesn't have to have people talk about him behind his back. He's not embarassed because he has no idea that his house is so filthy. And how would you go about cleaning it?
Is this a bad intake of alcohol in one weekend?!? I don't drink - strange I know - I haven't done for years - I have the odd shandy thats about it - however my fella does drink - which is normal of course!! I wonder though if his drinking intake is over the top and if he maybe needs to cut down. with not been a drinker myself I feel I am probably not the right person to judge as just 1 bottle of wine in one evening appears excessive to me! so this weekend - and this is generally the norm - sometimes he drinks more wine than I am about to outline!! please bear in mind he never has any tea if he is drinking, so what he does drink has more of an effect and he normally starts at 5 ish in the afternoon!! Thursday - he drank 9 pints of lager and 1 bottle of red wine Friday - he drank 10 pints of lager, 1 pint of cider and 1 bottle of red wine Saturday - he drank 10 pints of lager and 2 bottles of red wine Sunday - he drank 7 pints of lager and 1 bottle of red wine Totals 5 bottles of red 37 pints over 4 days extra info - he does not drink Monday, Tuesday or wednesday - and more often that not its TWO Bottles of red per drinking session (he can sometimes do three!!!!!)- this week its been less because I have moaned about it lots!!! his behavioir 90% of the time is good, I don't like how drunk he gets but he is never abusive physically to me - occasionally I get verbal abuse - but I'm a tough girl - that I can take!!! to judipod - thank you for your answer - I would just like to say honestly that he is not depressed or lonely - he really isn't - there is no deep rooted cause as to why he drnks so much - he just can!! he says its normal and everyone he knows does it - hmmmm!! not so sure about that!! he is fine at work - does a cracking job, never lets them down!! but your right - he is bored of TV etc - and its NO fun at all for me watching him get plastered 4 nights a week!!

Gratuities question.? When you are out at a restaurant, are you not supposed to tip on the wine. I had a nice meal with friends this evening and we had three bottles of wine which cost a total of $150. When we were paying the bill, one of the guys insisted that we need not tip for the wine just on the food. Our total bill was over $700 and we gave a $140 tip, was this enough. should we not have tipped on the wine?
